ANZ Wicked: Flash & full stack development

Brief

Build an interactive website to celebrate ANZ's sponsorship of Wicked the Musical.

Context

I worked on front-end and back-end aspects of this project during my time at Rodeo.

The site was built completely in Flash and features a unique map themed navigation system to browse ‘The Land of OZ’.

Users were invited to explore the world of OZ and discover information about the musical and its production.

On top of this, we also built a competition where users could showcase their talent and win a part in the Wicked production.

Solution

As well as Flash development and assisting with updates and maintenance to the site I also worked on the PHP code which drove dynamic functionality of the Flash frontend via AMFPHP.

ANZ Wicked

The 'Win a part' promotion featured an entry mechanism that allowed users to upload links to YouTube videos which were moderated and then later published to the site.

YouTube object embedding was used to then stream all the audition videos through the site and a scoring system was setup that allowed visitors to rate each video.
