L37 Homes: Front-end development
2012
Brief
Build a custom front-end for Deepend Digital as part of a rebuild of L37 homes website.
Context
I was doing some freelance for Deepend Digital in Richmond back in 2012 and one of the projects I assisted their dev team with was the L37 homes refresh. This was a purely front-end job.
Solution
Back in 2012, front-end was still a bit clunky compared to the tools and options we have today. At the time this was built using pure HTML and CSS along with a very heavy amount of jQuery for any frontend user interactivity.
Looking at some of the code now, I can see that I used:
- Fancybox
- A lot of jQuery
.animate()
- Google Maps integration
- Suckerfish for the mega dropdown
