Kidspot Australia: Digital solutions & development

Brief

Rebuild the Kidspot main website and continue to maintain and improves the platform so it can scale beyond the current infrastructure.

Context

Kidspot were one of the first clients that Vincent and I landed when we started Rocketmen back in 2013. We were originally brought on board to help them scale up their WordPress based site and also build a new front-end and theme. They also need help on the DevOps side and had plans to build smaller micro-sites and campaigns that they needed help with.

Solution

We took on pretty much the entire digital stack for Kidspot, we rebuilt the entire front-end on a new theme and then optimised their infrastructure on AWS to help scale the site.

We built custom plugins, additional themes for campaign sites and worked with Kidspot for the majority close to 3 years. Eventually, they restructured their entire digital work internally with the News tech team and we helped transition the work across to the internal team so they could move onto another stack.

Kidspot were a fantastic client that allowed us to grow and learn with them and I'll always remember the excitement of meeting them for the first time and making the sales pitch on why they should chose Rocketmen.
