Atkar: Website & online product catalogue rebuild

Brief

Rebuild the Atkar home page and online product catalog with a fresh new design and migrate all images and materials across to the new site.

Context

During my time freelancing at CHE, Vincent and I both built the Laminex website. Atkar had found us through a case study on this work and we worked with them from the wireframe phase through to design and build on the new site. The client wanted to move a very large catalog of parts and products and have a cross-functional site that catered toward architects as well as buyers of their products and materials. Some products could only be browsed for information and images, others were ones they could add to cart or enquire about.

Solution

We approached this by building a site that focused on large hero images to showcase Atkars fantastic product catalog:

For products that could be ordered or purchased the site also featured a cart system and custom taxonomies to allow us to also integrate these products into the site:

The site was also completely responsive and we migrated across all of the various products and hierarchies from existing catalogues. It was a challenging build that took a lot of time but we were proud of the results.
